About
I have spent twenty years working across Asia, first in training and communications, then running a GIS and software company. I speak Nepali, Hindi and Bhojpuri.
Most of that time I have built and led multilingual technical teams. They do better work because of their diversity: people who understand different languages, cultures and ways of seeing the world catch assumptions a single-culture team would miss, and build things that work for the people they're meant to serve.
I lead software teams and use technology to make a difference in people's lives, especially by opening up data and technology to underserved communities and cultures. That work ranges from geospatial data pipelines that classify millions of places to open datasets anyone can query from a browser.
I'm always learning. I use AI every day to research, build and ship better work, faster, and I bring that practice to the teams I lead.
I'm a Christian. I believe every person bears God's image, and that is why I care that maps count everyone, including communities that are easy to miss.
